I know that ERE is very good, but can an ITR head really be improved upon?

I know that a lot of people have actually lost power trying to mess with the head, and I have also read that the owner of Spoon has actually said the same thing?

On the previous head went the car was dyno which the only difference from before was the p n p and a new TB (replace a 66/68 to 70/72mm) the car made 15hp mid range and 5-6 top end . An if the power band would not have drop a bit (which is do to the dx fuel pump which i havent change for the walbro 255lph) it would of made just about as much as mid range .
So an ITR head can be improve ,and with welding the chambers you will also get more CR which is what i was looking for .Taking my current CR which was 12.3 to 12.8CR

Nice.

The welded chambers are nice. I guess the ITR head can be modified when done properly

You should correct your sig everyone knows the LACR correction time is even more than .4 (Altitude, plus wind, plus poor track conditions = slow)

thats what the LACR calculater gave me , for correcting E.T 's . but that will change as soon as i have my new slick and a tune motor Fontana it is . LACR is a good practice track but its a really bad track , since it gets sandy and the altitude varies affectine your times and not being able to compare all the time ....

What is that red little thing that sticks out from the valve stem? Would that affect the flow?

(sorry I know NOTHING about engine internals. )

the red stuff is probably assembly lube that was put on the valve stem before installation of the valve.

How did you address the problem concerning the enlarged cylinder bore(84mm) and the combustion chamber for an OEM cylinder bore?

went the other head was install , there was an issue it was throwing white smoke .We figure it was the lube that needed to burn from being assemble, so the car was dyno and more hp was gain with the new p n p head . Well after a few days the white smoke was still there and it was worse , it would also idle ruff (more then ever) and sometimes even hard to keep at idle were you had to keep your foot on the gas . So i gave erick a call and told him that the car wasnt running wright , so he told me to take it in . Seeing the way it was smoking it was either valve guides or valve seals (or something related to new head) since with the other one i never had that problem. So we inform Joe from Alaniz , the head was remove and it was given to him for him to inspect the head and determine what was wrong with it. After a week pass bye i gave him a call (Joe) and ask him went was the head going to be ready , he replied that it was going to take another week (which that was going to make 2 weeks down time ) i was surprise at the time that it was taking to get it fix but i figure that he is always busy and he was taking his time to make sure that everything was fix. So after waiting 2 weeks , it wasnt ready . I didnt want to rush him (joe) cause i didnt want a half *** job , or that the head was install on the car and it wasnt ready . so i gave him a couple of days , after a couple of days i decided to give him a call . He couldnt be reach (since there was an auto cross event ) and he attemps to attend those . To cut it short , it went for over a month and i told erick what was happening with Joe that he cant have the head ready (since my car is daily driven i have use for it ) .Erick gave him a call and still no head , he said that he hadnt found a problem with it but that he had a few more test to run . Erick felt bad at the fact that it was taking way to long , so he told me that he would give me one of his spare racing head that he keeps. He told me that he cares about his reputation and customer service , so thats the story behind how i have this new p n p head with custom chambers with a 85mm bored for my b18c 2.0l
I know if from the begining i would of try to buy Ericks head , he wouldnt sell it . But i appreciate at the fact that he took care of his customer , as far as Joe from Alaniz goes , dont get me wrong the guy does excellent work .His work is great and it has proven to make hp on the dyno, but as far as customer service he is sucks . Is not my fall that he mest up and the head didnt come out the way it should . IMO he should of fix the problem, and should of said how long it was going to take. Instead he put all of the work he had as an excuse and never took care of fixing the problem .Thats not right that just because he is an excellent porter that he can get away with doing stupid things like that . Im glad i didnt go direct to him and that i deal with ERE which has always come throught on Everything !!!

can you achieve the same results with a gsr head matched with the parts you mentioned or is there something in particular about the itr head that makes it unique for this application?
