Default Prefered oil grade?

I do not have a acura manual. For a 94 GSR at 109K miles in Dallas, Texas area. What grade of oil is best for all year round use?

If synthetic oils are better, which grade in synthetic should I get? Thanks.

I second that. The owner's manual recommends 10w30, althought I have 20w50 right now I am going to switch next change.

The manual states that 5w-30 is the recommended grade of oil.

Go with Valvoline Max Life 5w-30 with oem Honda filters, and you'll be a happy camper

if you go syn...use mobil 1. otherwise use honda oil(a product of mobil). i use 10w-30 year round now, mainly because the motor is getting older and the rings are getting tired and a little thicker oil helps.

Do you buy your oils at auto zone, or other local all purpose part shops? What about your oil filters?

i buy my oil and filter from the honda dealership. the cost totals to about 15 bucks. or i get the change done there for 21.99. you can get your oil at an autoparts store. go with a wix filter, IMO. they are very good. but, good luck changing the filter on your integra. it is a bitch to get too, even with a filter wrench. its worth spending the money to get it done by someone with a lift.

I just use my hand to unscrew the filters when I do oil jobs. It is usually a little messier since the oil drips down for a minute or two but just put some news paper and an oil pan underneath.

As long as whoever put it on before oiled the filter gasket it should come off smooth, and don't tighten it too much putting it back on.

remember to wear a long sleeved shirt when working with the oil filter just so that you dont get burned.
