Removing Freon from AC
Does the AC system have a freeon release valve??? I am about to be removing my AC System from my car and since the car isn't running quite yet, and isn't my daily driver, I am not in the need of an AC system in the project car. How can I get the freon out without freezing myself, or killing myself?? Please don't attempt to give me any 'save the earth' speeches
there is a valve on the lines that run into the firewall, it has a valve like a tire, and a cap to match, just take the cap off and push the pin down, and there goes our atmosphere...lol..ive done it twice
thanks, i saw those actually when i went out after posting and actually pushed it with a stubby screw driver and about frost bit my fingers off, i am guessing freon is like liquid nitrogen when it comes out. got kinda buzzed too since the garage was closed up, but just out of curiousity... has anyone rigged up a way to capture the R-12 refrigerant that comes out??? That would be a good sale if I could capture it... without having to buy 500 bucks in equipment.
