How much for used Koni's
Hey all, just wanted to see what you all thought about this. A customer of ours is selling some used Koni yellows, the LR shaft has been bent, so it needs to be fixed or replaced. They wouyld also need a rebuild. I have a number in mind, but not sure if its too low, just want some opinions....thanks all
Rebuild = $100. If one of them is bent, they might *all* need rebuilding. Once their rebuilt you're at the price of new konis. Not including shipping costs. Unless you were planning on revalving a set anyways, i'd give him a happy meal and a kick in the *** for them.
Basically what RJ said. Add about $35 ish for the new rod to the $100 in labor and approx $20ish in parts and you are above the cost of a new oTS Sport that has a warranty. If the goal is to get revalved units and not OTS valvings, then I'd say offer about $100-150 for the set. If one has been whacked hard enough to bend, although the others may be fine you should expect the worst and hope for the best.
Over the years I have bought and sold a lot of used performance parts. I have always used the rule of thumb that good working but used parts are worth about half of retail value generally.
You can IM me if you want to discuss it further.

I actually bought used yellows. I knew and trusted the seller, the shocks were in good shape and were only used with sport springs. I paid about $200ish (it was a set with other stuff) Mine did not need a rebuild, or any work. I would be sceptical if one is damaged. As mentioned I would buy the person a case of beer and call it even.
If you need to have them re-valved that may be different.
cool thanks. yeah, im just using them for parts. I need a revalved set anyways, so I thought this might be cheaper, and worthwhile.
