those look retarded, but 20 bucks is 20 bucks...and my pilotis aren't exactly the height of fashion (like weird bowling shoes). But hey, my girlfriend thinks they're cute, so who else do i gotta impress...and they work like a charm. Still, when i think nike, i don't think high-performance driving...they obviously got into it to get their logo on a nascar. Whoever gets these, please post impressions!
Yeah.. I've got a couple of pairs of Piloti's myself...
they're good shoes ...
Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised when these show up and they're lined in Nomex.
Yeah right. And maybe my DC2 will turn into a JZA80 at Midnight.

$26 vs. ~$100
Report will follow as soon as snail mail drops them off.
I just hope they are snug on my feet.... I hate buying shoes w/o fitting them.
The logo will be removed as soon as they are in my hands.

Heh, i'll bet the logo is so integral to the shoe that an attempt to remove it would result in the rest of the shoe evaporating into carbon powder.
you know those shoes you can order from nike with whatever you want written on them? Some guy got into a pretty amusing battle with them because he wanted "Sweatshop" written on the side of the shoe...that really cracked me up.
And yeah, nomex would be nice...probably nike-x tho

On the way
Good find--Had to do the blue--the others just...ehhhh*shrug* didnt do it for me.
Hey, if they fit good, I'll grab another pair. Just for wearing around they seem cool, and for 26 bux, cant really go wrong.

wow. they are gonna be like, wtf? we just got a lot of orders for these things! lol.... got me black n green.. remind me of wrestling shoes.. also nice to wear for car.
The shoes do look like they do have heels, but from the 3/4 view they present it's tough to tell. Hopefully there is a radius in tehre I'm not seeing. I'll find out once they get here (Hey, all the cool kids have 'em...I gotta get some too!) As far as Nomex lining goes, I think there should be some as the description reads somethign about a fireresistant lining. The other thing to note is that the shoe is not quite an above the ankle type (mid ankle dealish) so they probably won't be SFI rated/FIA approved or what not.
I have a set of the Piloti DTMs (the Blue and gold ones) and they are pretty nice, enough cushioning to walk around in the paddock in but the right shape to do uh, spirited driving in.
But for 20 bones, the price is right for these Nikes for me to see if they suck or not first hand.

I think these shoes may be intended for pit crews. From the Nike press release: http://www.nikebiz.com/media/n_jarrett.shtml
"The drivers are not the only ones with Nike footwear designed just for race-day needs. The race crews will take to the track in the Air Sub 18.0. Benefiting from nearly three years of research and development, the shoe sets the performance benchmark for race-day footwear. Nike has, in essence, created a track spike for the world of motor racing; superior low-profile cushioning, durable and protective Nomex® lined upper, and most importantly, "Nike Racing Compound" outsole that provides unparalleled traction on pit road. When tenths of seconds make the difference between winner and runner-up, Nike provides the superior equipment for human performance. "
Maybe they would be okay for driving as well? Can't be any worse than other everyday sneakers.
