Default One of those si tranny questions.

Alright i searched now for about 45 mins on here...but i still am not postive about a few things.

Heres the deal. Right now i have an 88 si tranny with act clutch. Has a leak tho. So im gonna be running an 89 si tranny that is in better condition. I know i cant use the clutch from the 88.

But here is the question. Someone told me i could use a 92-00 flywheel with the 89 tranny.

The question is...is that true, and if i can use that flywheel what clutch should i use with it? the 89? the 92-00?

I HOpe that wanst too confusing...please get back to me THanks

I don't know about 92-00 but I used a 90-91 clutch/flywheel on my 89 tranny

I know you can upgrade to the 90-91 flywheel and use a 90-91 clutch. If you use an 89 flywheel, you need an 89 clutch. The 89 clutch is a little smaller than the 90-91 and it can't hold as much power. I don't know about putting the 92-00 flywheel in though.

90-00 is the same size for all SOHC motors

in 1990 the crx came with a slightly larger Flywheel than the 89

so if you get an 89 tranny try and located a 90-00 flywheel so you can run any 90-00 clutch setup

all SOHC trannys from 89-00 have 20spline input shafts and can share the same clutch

the 88 however has a 21 spline input shaft

For reference though people with 88 Trannys that want to upgrade to the larger clutch can use the 90-00 flywheel but will need to order an 86-89 ACCORD clutch disc

the 86-89 ACCORD disc are 21 spline but have the larger 90-00 diameter of the later SOHC setups
