Anyone has BSQ DIY intake with K&N Filter
Just thinking about dropping a K&N filter in the stock airbox with BSQ's DIY intake....

Any comments/experience on the sound and performance figures for this kind of setup? Thanks

I purchased the BSQ (ITM) Setup along with a K&N E-2427 filter...
The sound is throatier than stock, but I wouldn't really label it as a much louder sound.. just better, more aggressive..
The throttle response is better than before (as if my gas pedal wasn't sensitive enough already) Feels great!!
If you really want a kick, or track your car, removal of the corner light really gets the car breathing. I took her out on a cold dry night without the turn signal (just for a quick run) and it was a significant improvement.
Go for it!!

sorry to bring this back, but I have a question. I have my BSQ kit sitting at home (I'm at college) ready for me to install it over Thanksgiving, and was wondering.... if I get a short ram intake that sits right over where the BSQ pipe comes up, will I see a benefit? Kinda have the BSQ pipe shoot cold air onto the SRI?
two more questions... is the short ram thing gonna work, and when I go to the track in December, it's gonna be COLD anyway. I'm gonna have my BSQ kit on. Should I take the top off my airbox?

I've had this setup for almost 2 years, w/ the RU-2820 filter (I'll be damned if I spend $60+ on a filter that doesn't fit as well as stock when I can make my own that fits just like stock for $30). I've never done anything special with it, except one time I took out my turn signal at the drag strip. I've never covered up the tube and I've never run w/o the airbox lid. I just ran thru some standing water today (few inches deep), no problems. I mean seriously, the main reason I did this was to have a filter that lasts forever and to get rid of that POS useless resonator box. The intake is very loud if you have only the airbox w/ nothing below it, so I made the tube and put it in.
Just make or buy the tube and put the air filter in there, and keep the box closed up. No point really in taking the lid off or whatever. And I doubt the tube by itself would make any difference w/ a short ram intake.
