H22 Shift RPM
Not to sound like a newbie, but I'm trying to determine fact from fiction.......What is the highest rpm that I can shift my internally stock 1994 jdm h22 at?
8000? I've never heard it that high.... the two that I was debating over was 7200 and 7600...... I have mis-shifted and reved up to about 7800 once, but even then it didnt sound right.
well, on my stock accord tachometer i shift pretty dam close to 8.
we all know how they are off. according to my v-afc the highest rpm it sees is ~7600rpm... this is with me taking it as close to 8 on the tach as i can bare.
if I take it too far, I bang the rev limiter, which is at about 7800rpm according to the v-afc once again.

please if you don't own an H22 Accord don't respond cause your most likely spreading wrong info.
generally 7,400 according to a VAFC is where you want to be. How that relates to your stock tach, you need to find out. for racing you'll need to shift high enough in the rpm range to land in VTEC on the 1-2 shift. w/out lowering VTEC on a VAFC this may mean 7,500-7,600 rpm shifting.

all of you guys claiming to rev to 7800 or 8200 on a stock ECU with an untouched rev limit are incorrect
the factory, OEM tach is inaccurate
the fuel cut on the regular h22a1, a4 or jdm h22a is 7650 TOPS
there is no H22a, even the SIR s-spec that is capable of revving over 8000rpms, the fuel cut on that motor is 7900
the stock tach reads higher than it actually is, a few hundred RPMs

in my case i am running a hondata s100 p28
i know for a fact the fuel cut is at 8200 since i know the guy that tuned it and it made enough power to make ti worth going that high, plus i use a shift light set at 7800 as well as an automete tadch since my car was not equiped with a tach.

i dont own a h22 but my friend has one in his accord and he told me to shift at 7800 when he let me drive it soo? i dunno it didnt make any wierd sounds but damn it was fun i want one for mine now
i never shifted past about 7400...makes funny noises if i shifted anywhere beyond that...i never did find the rev limiter, though i was using an auto ecu in a 5 speed...
