Changing pads.(brake)
when changing brake pads...what else is needed to be done? can i just change the pads or do i have to change the fluid also? I think i might go with the Project mu B-Force pads..any objections or advice?
Just change the pads. Use lots of anti-seize. Change the fluid only if it's old or you are upgrading to something with a higher boiling point. If you boiled your fluid, bleeding off some can extend the use of your fluid but otherwise it's a good idea to change it.
Project mu B-force pads are new. I haven't heard anything but hype so far.

BigPHat: What sort of Anti-seize?
Goch, you will need 2-3 bottles to do the job right. I suggest you take it to a shop if you never change fluids on your own before. Unless you have someone with experience who can work with you. Most likely you will end up wth a soft pedal and still have the shop do it for you. Not to mention all the good fluid you wasted.

I don't think you have to be too picky with swapping fluids. IT's a rather simple job to perform if you know what has to do done. So any shopp that works on Honda/Acura near by your home should do. No need to take it to a performance shop, you will just end up paying more. If you want, I know a shop at Rosemead (much closer than inlinefour) who can do it for you.
I had my R's fluid replaced with some Motul 600 at ES Technical Roadsports by the infamous JDM guy, Tetsu Fukui!
He's a perfectionist also and know his chit, not to mention he can whip most R's auto-xing in his GSR!

I've been running the Project-U B-Force pads for about 2.5 weeks now. Unfortunately it is hard for me to compare them to my stock pads since the stockers were ashed at the Expo and I drove with them in that state for a few weeks.
For general feel, I like the brakes a lot. Very good pedal feel, they don't seem to suddenly grab, they are fairly quiet, with just a tiny bit of squeal at very low speed every now and again. I tried an 80mph to 0 stop with them, and they performed very well, at least as good as the stockers when they were brand new.
On the whole I have been very happy with them. The true test will be my next autocross when I am running Kumho 700s for the first time. We'll see how they brake then.

I have used the Porterfields for a few years with great success and have just recently started on the Hawk Blue's (my stock pads didnt survive the 1st day at the expo) I also use Motul 600. If you need some help or anything lemmie know man just drop me an IM or give my cell a ring. Next time you're around the house drop by and I'll give you a hand

No comments on the pads as I've never heard anything about them before, but on the fluid, I'd recommend changing it. If the pads need replaced then the fluid probably does too IMO.
I personally recommend ATE SuperBlue and Type200. Excellent dual purpose (street/track) fluids that would require flushing frequently to maintain it's capabilities.

what kind of fluid? Motul 5.1 or 600?
You'll need two bottles, each one half liter.
James,
If you have the tools then you can save yourself some money and change your brake pads yourself! You only need like some basic tools!
Right before the Expo yeahls(Sandor) showed me and Kelly how to change our brake pads! Man that chit is so easy! I will never pay to get my pads changed again! Now changing the brake fluid is something that should be done by a pro!
When you do it yourself you prolly wanna slap yourself for not doing it sooner!
I would be glad to show you sometime!
Oh yeah, my Friend Tetsu charged me $100 for the 3 bottles of Motul 600 and to change the fluid! Not bad at all!

Worked like charm at the Expo!
No brake fade whatsoever! And I was braking in places on the track I prolly should not have been!

what's up all?
how long are you guys keeping Motul 600 in? I used it when i went to CMP, but i thought you shouldn't keep it in for a long period of time because it reacted with moisture and degraded/ate away the brake lines.
-pyro who needs to figure out how to change pads t00!
