Default bypass valve? yes or no?

I noticed from a recent poll here, there was a poll about which was the best intake. How come people voted for the aem cai witout the bypass valve? Is it just cause of the extra 50 bucks they save? or is there more to it? Do you lose power from the bypass valve? I live in san diego, i know it doesn't rain much here, but when it does rain, it ****ing rains. Do you guys think i would need it?

Default Re: bypass valve? yes or no? (IntegraGSR)

I have talked to a friend who dynoed a Type-R (01) with the AEM and by-pass valve, and they said at VTE you could hear the flaps open. Basically, the pull of the air through the intake opened up the valves when they weren't supposed to.

I suggest the Comtech Icebox if you are worried about hydrolock. And I believe that the AEM with bypass is almost the same price.
