Where is the coolant air bleed bolt on a B18B?
I have diagrams that only show where it is on the B18C. Supposedly it should be near the thermostat, which looks like is on the lower rad. hose for the b18b, but I couldn't find it anyways. And its so crowded in there with all sorts of hoses, it would be hard to get a socket in! On the B18C the thermostat is by the upper rad hose I think? Thanks for any help!!
There isn't a bleed valve on the B18B. The manual says to run the engine for a while (until the fan comes on twice), then shut off the engine. Wait for it to cool down a bit, then take off the radiator cap (make sure its cooled, don't want to get scalded). Then add more coolant as needed.
on the b18c its a little nipple somewhere on the left-front side of the motor... looks like the bleeder valve on the brake calipers... its somewhere there... i just cant really describe it now... (and im really tired) and i cant find a good pic!
Ein, I could have sworn I looked there and didn't find it. I assumed the b18b didn't have it. I'll look again...Generally I don't have and problem with removing air formt he system by just running the engine and getting things hot, then I squeeze the upper and lower radiator hose to get the air out.
I don't know about the B, but the B18A has a bleeder valve just to the right of where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine. It's really easy to get to with a socket wrench.

hmmm I coulda sworn I looked in that area and there was none on mine (a 98). Anyone have an close-up picture of their engine bay?
yeah that screw is not on my hose area based on the picture. I wonder why honda took it out??
oh yeah thanks for the pic 90integraGS

My guess is that because in all the time I've used that bolt, air has NEVER come out of it. I would say I've done about 5-6 coolant changes so far too... not all of them scheduled unfortuantely...
that's not a B18B.........none the less a very interesting picture........where are the rest? i'd like to see mone engine bay shot and a list of mods on that baby!!
true... its not a ls but u can see where the bleeder bot is... i dont know if i can release the specs on the motor... over 600 hp and it was a street car
95 B18B1:

as for that B18C1.........looks like a beast!! over 600hp is still probably one of the most powerful b-series engines out today.......cool!

non-VTEC, that hole to the right of the upper rad hose, isn't that where you would have the bleeder screw. I don't have that nubby thing on mine
