Default whistling noise when accelerating...

the whistling noise been going on for some time now. i thought maybe it was my deck at first (cheap walmart deck). so i took the deck out and took the car for a spin. the whistle noise is still there when i am accelerating. then i redid my wires. this is in a '95 hatchback. on the driver side, i ran the power wire (4 ga.). on the passenger side, i ran the RCA cables, remote wire, and speaker wires. for the ground, i used the seatbelt bolts under that back seats. is there anything that i did wrong? or anything that i need to do? i would like the whistle noise to go away. thanks Do

wiring sounds good, but you still hear whistling noise with the deck out of the car? what did you wire the amp remote wire to? try to scrap off some paint at the point where the seat belt bolt hole is at where it can touch the o-ring once bolted down. if it still don't work, try a rca isolator, it ruins the quality of the music , but it will bring down the whistling noise a little.

Is the whistling sound coming out of your speakers? When you took your deck out the first time, where were the speaker wires?

My 92 LX does the same thing, thought it was alternator whine untill i drove for a few days with no deck.

This was back before I had my CAI, but it's still there when I have the volume turned down on my stereo.

there are no speakers connected right now. i do have wires for my highs connected to my high's amp to the harness because i want the highs powered by the deck and amp. EGlovr...i have that problem also between 2700-4000 rpms. i have a generic short ram intake, do you think that could cause the whistling noise? thanks

watacivic -- i just drove my company van home (its an automatic) and it did the same thing! it has no radio or speakers, so that cant be the problem. when i have my music turned up in my car, i cant hear the sound at all. im not too sure what the problem could be. im thinking its a wiring problem.

im guessing it is my cheap intake since acuradriva said so in the above replies. you think it could be the alternator making that noise because when i start the car in the morning, it makes a crazy *** loud chirping noise. when the car is warmed up or i start driving it, the noise then goes away. thanks Do

**The whistles kicks in when u rev at a certain rpm and goes away when u let go the gas right? If yes, than i'm 98% sure its your intake
