Default OEM vs. Arospeed.

I replaced the oem 98spec JDM shifter this past weekend, with an Arospeed robo shifter. Bought from a shop called eBay.

Compared to the C's shifter it is copied from, the Arospeed piece is not too bad. The price is definately right. I picked up a replica Recaro seat too, as seen in the second pic, also by Arospeed.

Enjoy it

Only thing I seem to remember hearing about those shifters is they break. I'll see if I can find the old posts.

Are you being serious?! Arospeed recaros and arospeed shifter? No way... Looks identical to the C's even down to the washer and rubber bands

Note: arospeed doesn't have suede seats. Thanks for yankin the chain

Arospeed seats are made by Recaro...some guy from the Mitsubishi forums posted some pics.

Although I don't think the fabric is as good (which isn't saying much ) for the money you can't go wrong. only thing I don't like are the bling stitching they put on them (embroidered "AROSPEED")

that shifter is nice

do the recaro's have replaceable covers? cus i mean if the arospeeds are copies then just buy the arospeed seats and put the recaro covers on them just a thought cus i know my corbeau seat had a cover on it that could be replaced for like $70 i think

Good luck finding C's shifter, the company is long gone and I can't find jack here in HK

Lucky that I bought one before

That looks EXACTLY like the c's dps. I would like to see one in person. How much did it cost (if you don't mind me asking)?

I've also heard that Aero Speed Seats were made by Recaro.
I also remember reading a thread about the Shifter breaking.
Kinda looks like a truck shifter to me too. Hope it is functional and Hope it doesn't break while Shifting

LOL I can just imagine

BTW what was wrong with the Stock ITR Shifter?

couldn't agree more. If I had an ITR I would actually swap it out with a civic shifter for daily driving. It's safer.. whether people believe it or not.

It might just be me ...but a big long assed shifter seems so grandma'ish... reminds me of those 60's VW buses

seems you guys do not value function over form. if you do not know why this is something someone would use, ask. if you don't know why, don't just pull stuff outta your a$$ just to make a comment so you can add one more to your already 53,983 previous worthless posts.

I'm glad I was able to pick up a Cs shifter before they stopped production. I don't have the positional shifter, but it works really well with ITR shift linkage and Mugen bushings..

That shifter looks decent..

Okay if you think Function is a shifter breaking in 1/2 during a race then I guess you've got a winner

I personally se nothing wrong with the Stock shifter. I track my car and have never had a problem. Seems to me like just one more thing to go wrong when there is nothing wrong with the OEM piece. I recently changed my Bushings to Mugen over Spoon for a better feel and near same presicion. If the Granny Shifter is your thing then go for it. Lots of people use things that are both Nice looking and FUNCTIONAL. People need to realize that this is a Public Webforum and there will be OPINIONS based on LOOKS. I think the MUGEN Spoiler for the DC2 is UGLY and I would never put that thing on my car but it has been proven to be functional.
(oh no, he just said Mugen and UGLY in the same sentence... LOL) YAH UGLY So is the SHIFTER UGLY. FUNCTIONAL OR NOT THEY ARE STILL UGLY!!! GET OVER IT!!

(sorry for the rant...)
