Lets AutoX in Beautiful Ozark Alabama this Sunday
Wiregrass region has the benefit of a nice, big concrete helipad and low turnout (its a very small region). A typical event is show up at 10 or 11am, run until you get tired (but only the first 6 count), and go home. You dont even have to work the course as drivers who hit cones just drive back out and set them up after their run.
Renee and I will be there making sure the Neon is all nice and fixed and just having some low stress fun. Join us.

Damn, damn, damn. I'm out. Broken steering colum+no brakes+possible hurt motor=stay at home under car fixing it.

Mapquest it. I'm going by memory, and its been a couple of years since I went there from Atlanta, but I think its about 3ish hours. You go down through Columbus.
These events are very laid back. I don't think they've ever had more than 20 people show up for an event. Theres no need for course workers since even with everyone driving out to reset their own cones you get all the runs you could ever want in 4 to 5 hours.
And the pad is nice and big. There was a divisional there 2 years ago and if I remember right the course was about 60 seconds with at least one 3rd gear section.
I haven't been there in a while so I'll get directions from Renee and post them here tonight. Wiregrass doesn't have a website.
C'mon down Casey and Ryan. We haven't seen you guys in a while. It'd be cool to hang out at a low stress event and watch both of you guys kick our asses. We can do lots of car swapping too. Wiregrass doesn't care who's driving what.

Directions from Dothan Alabamy (Sketchy, but they're simple and will get you there):
Take Hiway 231 North out of Dothan
Travel approximately 11 miles
Turn Left at the Texaco and Exxon Stations (sorry, road name unknown)
Airfield is less than 1/2 mile down on the right
Festivities usually dont start until after 10am.

Would love to go, but it's highly doubtful. Family calendar = very busy, plus that's a long-*** haul to get down there.
I think its the traditional $20 but I'm not sure.
I also don't think its 5 hours. I used to get to Enterprise (which is even further) from Marietta in 4 hours back in my Solo I days. Its also less than 4 hours from Road Atlanta to Albany and I think mapquest lists that as 5+ as well.

Nah. Last time I was there they started 1.5 hours late and we were still done before 5pm.
"Done" means nobody wants to run any more or all tires are corded, not "its getting dark."

Yo Scott .. Let us know if they reschedule. I couldn't have made it today. (Home improvement ownz my ***.) But I wouldn't mind a day of AutoX where I am not baking in a parking lot for 10 hours wondering why I got up so freakin' early.
We were really looking forward to getting to run on concrete. Spent a lot of time getting the cars suspension redone and got the new wheels on just for today. Oh well. Guess I won't have to do any of in two weeks before the next atl event.
thanks again for the call scott. I would have been really pissed getting down there sunday morning after driving so far.

That's my region and i'll be there. The site is actually located in Newton, AL which is 5-6 miles south of Ozark.
