Unhooked and plugged IACV holes-nothing happened.

Unhooked and plugged IACV holes-nothing happened.
I was just trying to solve my rough idle. I'm assuming there should at least be some change in idle speed when this happens.
I plugged the IACV holes on the IM with tape.
The cars cold idle is fine, when it warms up it's steady but the car shakes. 800rpms.
Is this indicative of a bad IACV? or is there something I'm overlooking?
