Default How do you drain the PS rack of a 5th gen? (4th gen was easy, this is not)

On my 4th gen, I crawled under the car, undid the main PS line which was clearly visable on the bottom of the rack, and watched as all the PS fluid drizzled out.

On my buddies 5th gen, I suspected that it would be a similar setup. We drained the PS container under the hood, took the pump off, and I crawled under the car to finish the job.

There is not a single PS line visable anywhere. I have no idea how anyone would get to it without pulling the rack.

We turned the wheel left and right, and got some fluid to squirt out the hardline up by the pump, but I'm sure there is still lots left in there. How would we get to it?

PS - driving the car without powersteering is interesting, but not impossible. I'm by no means a big guy, and I did not find it difficult to drive. It feels GREAT above 30 mph. Takes too hands below 30mph though... I'd like to get rid of the rest of the fluid to see how much more it helps.

the EZ way is to disconnect the line on the output side of the PS pump, then turn the car on and move the wheel to full left then full right. It will all come right out.

so is the only way to get to it to take the intake manifold off and attack it from above?

I see a hondata intake manifold gasket in the future....

Or you can drop one end of the rack down from below to get to it. I think I remember reading something about doing that, and it didn't seem to hard. Let us know how you do it, I might be doing the PS removal some time this winter.
