Clutch Master Cylinder Rebuild
Has anyone done this before?? Its for a 92 honda civic hatch, it leaks fluid into my cabin, i bought the rebuild kit, looks simple enough. However, i have never seen this done, and have no info on it, and was just wondering if anyone has done it, and if so how you would go about it. The main issue is how everything comes apart and what not, i know i'd have to bleed the line, and such, but i can't tell how it come out, the piston and spring that is. Any help.
go to your local auto parts dealer and drop $15 on a service manual for your car. or search online for one. i've found a few, but lost the links. good luck.
i have one, and i have access to helms, none of which go into the specifics of rebuilding a clutch master cylinder.
Thats what i'm beginning to think, but i have this supposed rebuild kit from napa... it has a spring, and a boot, and a piston with seals on it. Looks like the right size and the boot for the clutch master cylinder. I guess i'll get a new clutch cylinder, pull it and see if i can fix it otherwise, just replace it.
Save yourself the headache of rebuilding and get a new one, they run about $65.00 bucks depending on the type, and sometimes on ebay you can find them in a set with the slave cylinder for just a couple bucks more. You should really think about changing the both of them at the same time, because in my past experience when one goes the other follows shortly after, and especially when you just change one.
good luck
