For those with JDM engines
any kind of jdm engine, doesnt matter. I plan on gettin one this winter and just wondering if everyone is completely satisfied, any problems that may have happened, anything to really worry about. Any input would be great
Got a JDM ITR...everything is working fine, I've Had it since beginning of July. Only prob. I have is I keep getting CEL #22, but thats cuz of a bad VTEC solenoid I believe, its not a constant prob, but kicks in randomly and my VTEC stops working until I turn off my car then start it up again. Other than that I absolutely love it...
yeah i cant wait... Are the USDM H22 and JDM H22 basically the same engine except theres more power and higher compression? i.e. internals, throttle body, intake and exhaust manifolds, etc
They come with all parts needed dont they? I dont have to like go searching for parts do i? Just drop it in and ready to go?

plan to spend more money than you expected
its not exactly drop it in and ready to go UNLESS you have a VTEC engine in your car.
i had an auto Si, and purchased a front clip of a JDM 95 Prelude VTEC and thought i would have everything.
things i purchased which i didnt account for:
- motor mount (they didnt feel safe bc it was a little bent when they took it off)
- throttle cable
- clutch master cylinder and line that connects with it (will not fit in)
- new clutch
- fuel injectors (mine were clogged)
- new axles
can't remember it all but if your just puttin a JDM Vtec into your US Vtec equipped prelude then i believe its all drop and go.
hoped any of this helped

yeah mine is a vtec already, the engine is pretty much screwed so thats why im going to JDM. Your fuel injectors in your JDM engine were clogged?
I see you are selling a JDM ecu, did you put in a USDM ecu? Thats what i plan on doing, i have one laying around

yeah my injectors were clogged.
ever since i had the car the top end would lag. changed out ecu (chipped p28), new clutch, timing was perfect but the lag was still there.
my cousin has the same engine as me, so we swapped injectors and lag was gone. found a deal on the injectors and bought them.
you have to remember that your buying a used engine, some parts are good some are crappy.
your USDM ecu will work fine. dont worry.

yeah i suppose, you cant expect everything to be perfect. I bought that obd1 to replace my obd2 but the obd2 was putting out more power so i decided to keep that one but i never got rid of the obd1.
The only reason why i want to switch is because of the cutout on the jdm (110mph), not that im always driving around that fast, but there have been some cases. The JDM ecu adapts better to mods though doesnt it? I guess i will find out for sure next spring when i go to a dyno, if youre talkin quite a bit of power difference i think i will just leave the JDM ecu in.
And do you think an ecu from a canadian model lude is any different from the US models? Cause thats what i have, an ecu from a canadian lude.

how did you know that the OBDII ecu was putting out more power? butt-dyno ?
but how did you convert the ECU? purchased a harness?
ecu adapts to better mods??? i couldnt honestly tell you. but i do know that it is a 32 bit processor and the USDM is 16. but if your going to notice the power, i dont know.
Canadian SRV should be the same as the US VTEC.
hope i helped

I went to the dyno and we did 2 base runs, one with the obd2 and the other with the obd1 and the obd2 was putting down 4whp more, so i stuck with that one. And yes I have an adaptor harness.
