Spoon Header installed...kind of...need help
So I was installing my Spoon header and carsound cat today and I ran into an issue. The carsound cat does not have bolts built into it like the stock cat does so I had to run out and get some nuts and bolts. The only problem is that I cannot for the life of me get the top bolt fully tightened so now I have an exhaust leak at the cat/b-pipe connection. How did everyone else fix this issue and get theirs tightened?
Oh, and as I suggestion, never try and do by yourself it is very annoying. I haven't noticed any differences yet since I am taing it easy on the car until I get the cat issue fixed.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Did you tightened all the bolts equally? It sounds like you may have tightened one side more than the other, making the mating surface angled. I would just remove all the bolts and try again.
it's tough to get that last bolt...just be patient and use open ended wrenches...it took me some time, but eventually I got it tight enough...
try doing that bolt first so you have some play w/ the exhaust...if you do the other two first, it is a little harder and a tighter area to work in...

Eric should have given me a call, Wouldnt have minded helping, Im guessing your doing this with a jack and jackstands but you should still be able to get to the bolt this way but it helps to have another person helping.
Unbolt the header cat bolts to make this easier
Undo the rubber bushings holding the B Pipe The other person pulls down on the B pipe and pushes to the rear of the car. you can get to the top bolt very easily, It also helps to have an angle socket
Good Luck
PS Are you going to Epping tommorow?

Well, when I installed my header, i installed every all at once.
i had an exahaust, carsound cat, jdm header.
in my opinion it is much easier to tighten the top bolt u are speaking of if u remove the b pipe, or slightly remove it and let hang. U know what i mean?
so slide the hangers off the bpipe and then tighten all the bolts to the cat, then connect it to the header
worked for me

Thanks for the tip Mike. I will probably do that tomorrow. I guess I was just in too much of a rush and din't think about dropping down the cat and B pipe. I will see when I can get some time to do this. Otherwise, I may pay (literally) you a visit and take you up on your offer.
I can't make it tomorrow since I have night classes beginning at Merrimack. I am going in two Saturdays. So not this coming Saturday, but the next.
