alright, i have a 97 cx. as most of you know, its obd-2. if i am getting a full swap,(ecu, axles, tranny, motor, sensors . . .) why cant i just throw in a complete obd-1 motor swap? if i am switching to the appropriate ecu and sensors, whats to keep me from doing it? i know this is kind of a stupid question, but i have to know. thanx!

 

Your car is meant to have an obd2 sensory ecu. or at least where the engine wiring harness is plugged into the engine bay is an obd2 harness. You want to use an obd1 harness (cause your engine swap requires it) You can get a Skunk 2 obd2 to obd1 conversion harness for about 175.00 or so. that should be all you need to run that engine. cept your dizzy gotta be obd1 but it should if your getting a complete swap.

Might be an issue with your counties emissions.. 96+ chasis might need OBDII. Might want to check that with a local state inspector

 

but, let me get this straiight: all i need is an obd1 dizzy and an obd2-obd1 adapter and im set? and as long as its legal?
