Sounds like you've already sold yourself on the B18c1. Go for it.

check this out.....a stock B18C with your average driver is only gonna get 13/14's......B18C1 14/15's....and B16A2 15/16's.i/h/e combined are only gonna give you 10-15hp tops.i would go with the gsr setup you have planned along with a suspension uprade with some Falken Azenis.

i've seen b16a2"s run mid 14s...

my friends best was 14.6 at 96 with a stock b16 in an eg cx

a b18c1 will give you low 14s to high 13s
now i've raced a eg with a stock usdm gsr vs my stock b16a
we were dead even so don't doubt the b16's power for a second

It is going to be hard to get a B16a or a B18c1 into the 13s in an Si hatch without going inside the motor. I would definitely go with the B18c1 though or an ITR motor if you can afford it. An ITR motor with I/H/E should get you 13s.

B18c1 with practice you should be able to hit low 14's , also depends how much weight reduction you do to your EG . An you can always install some mild cams and a bit higher CR to get you there .

if you looking to run 13's i would say screw the B-series and go H22. with a stock h22 (just AEM) in a full interior 94 civic ex i ran 13.9 @ 98. your car should be even lighter, add an aftermarket header (SMS, DRT, IE), high flow cator test pipe, and cat back exhaust u should be able to knock a few tenths of. get some BFG's and ur hitting mid 13's already. plus its a liltte cheaper than an B18C1.

its also got great low end torque so its easy for daily driving cuz u dont have to open it up to get some speed out of it.

Or H23VTEC with Type S pistons if you want 185+ whp from an OEM part built 2.3L. The R/S gets lowered a bit, but the H23 rev limit is mid-high 6k rpms stock.

Go with a built D series. You already have it so why not open it up and build it some. That would surprise the hell out of others at the track and on the street.

King Tut you still have your old D series motor at home?

Jeff at Hybrid Automotive has done many H22 EG swaps and all have been taken to the state ref and passed and are now fully legit legal swaps. no problems passing smog (unless your running a test pipe). he will do a full H22A conversion, drop it off, pick it up 3 or 4 days later ready to roll garanteed no check engine light running perfect for $4450. very good deal

if you got skills.. u will bust a 13 second pass u 1st try. add some mods (i/h/cat/e) and some sticky tires u will hit mid to low 13s for sure.

i've seen an eg hatch with a jdm h22a. stock internal. no bolt ons. hacked up "stock" air box. stock si exhaust and stock jdm h22a header. with falken azenis tires on gsr rims with no jack and no spare put down 13.4@105. it's all in the driver.

eg h22 one day i'll get my beloved eg and put my h22 in it.

good luck to ya.
