I have a few questions

#1 What Transmission are you using? Its going to run like crap without Si or ZC box.

#2 Are you using a OEM Honda TIming belt or aftermarket? Only use honda, ask me why.

#3 Are you absolutely 100% certain with no doubts you timed it right after you replaced the belt? its really easy to mistime, again ask me how I know.

#4 Have you rechecked the cam timing after you first replaced it? It may have jumped on you, again ask me how I know.

#5 What ECU are you running? #1 is PM7, #2 is PG7, #3 is PM6 and if you use one from an HF ask someone to kick you in the butt.

I ask these because I first installed a GATES brand belt, good company but crappy timing belt for a honda, it jumped time everytime I went over 5,000 rpm. after 10 times redoing the timing in the first week. I took the advice of board members and bought a HONDA brand belt, 2 years later it has never jumped time again.

Check your ignition timing also. Check plugs and wires etc. Have you reset the ECU also. THere are a bunch of things that can contribute to this.

i dont understand that question...everything should be set at 0 for cam timing when TDC...thats probably why you dont have any topend...plus get rid of the Si ecu, that **** is killing you too...

THat motor should run like a strapped ape even with the PM6 ECU, mine is fast as hell even with it. Still accelerating hard at 7,500 rpm when I back off of it. Funny my PM6 does not limit me to 6,500 or even 7,200 and its not even chipped. If its a dog its something other than the ECU, the right ECU should get you more power , but it should run like a banshi with its butt on fire even with a PM6. Mine starts pulling at about 3,000 and keeps pulling harder and harder all the way to redline.

One tooth off and you are going to notice it. Take my word from personal experience. THe PM6 (Si ECU) is not the best but I still get wheelspin in 3 gears not trying with 205/50-15 tires and it pulls ungodly hard to redline. My only boltons are a noname CAI, OBX stainless headers and 2.5 cat back (OBX also) everything else stock with a ZC trans (soon to be Si/ZC hybrid when I get motivated) and in next few months I am getting EF-1 cams, A Mugen chiped PM7 is on its way as we speak. THis car will give a B16 with the same mods a run for its money, It probibly won't beat it, but it will give it a good run. And thats all I need to be happy. I get a seriously satisfactory Butt Dyno feel whenever I run the gears. And before any of you B16 fanatics go off. I don't race, on the street or on the track, so yeah yours may be faster, and that doesn't bother me, because this is way fast enough to make be happy. ANd I spent way less than a base price for a B16 swap. And I still get 35 mpg on the highway.

Its your cam timing-I had the same problem getting my cam gears exactly on. Mine were off a tooth on intake and exhaust and its sputters when I punch it, but when I hit around 3k+rpms, it hauls ***. The ecu shouldnt be a problem. Pm6s work fine, just redo your cam timing and make sure your pulley is lined up as well as your cam gears.

well I timed my cam and it was off . it pulls like hell around 3,000 it also is planted in 91 si hatch so weight is a issue.

Well I have a '89 hatch, A/C and full interior, Still runs like a strapped ape, and I have driven an Si and that motor has NOTHING on the ZC twincam. Yes its slower than a CRZ HF with same motor would be, but then, I need the space to haul stuff for work. CRX would not be as useful for me.

My friend went to Honda yesterday and bought a timing belt. It says Gates on the belt right next to Honda.

Thats odd, mine wasn't. The bransd new GATES belt stretched enough it jumpted time EVERY time it went in the 4,500 rpm plus range. 10 times the first week I followed the advice of the board and did what I should have from the begining, Stay OEM on the Timing Belt. I can't check mine because it has 2 years running But I am 100% certain it was not a gates belt. It was a Japanese manufacture. Just was not familiar enough to remember the name. That OEM belt has maintained time from the day I installed it and thats two years running now. Versus 10 times in the first week it jumped time with the Gates.

Exactly or the dealer. Funny thing is the prices are so close to each other why would you NOT go OEM, but Gates is NOT an OEM supplier to honda. Mine was some big long japaness name. Not GATES and that is certain.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by crxgator &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

Its your cam timing-shoot me an IM and I can help ya. If thats on check ignition timing, but like I said, my car did the same **** and I was off 1 degree on each cam gear. I adjust them and BOOM, my car sounds like its high on anger now...lol. Im positive its your cam timing because weight wouldnt contribute to such a lag of power in the bottom end or throttle response. It IS timing.
