hcp mounts vs hasport mounts...
ok right now i have the shitty hcp mounts, i really hate em. and i'm going to switch over to the hasport mount kit as soon as i get my hydro tranny. but does anyone know how much the hasport kit raises the motor up? i know it'll sit a bit higher, but i wanna know how much. (i need the extra ground clearance). i'd like to ask brian from hasport, but i doubt he'd know
the motor sits so much lower than any mount kit out there. hasport, place racing...my header sits so low right now, i can hardly lower my car @ all, its almost @ stock height. i mean, its great if you dont have the cash to get a dohc zc hood, or a sir style hood (to get ride of the rubbing w/ valvecover) but the ground clearance is really needed
ok...
first of all, if you think you have even a slightly biased opinion, thats ok. but i dont want to hear from you. secondly, dont ever imply that 'im looking to lower my car for all the stunna reasons. i know the the lower the better is certainly not true, but i also know that riding around @ stock height isn't great either. if hcp mounts are so great, why is it that they're not the #1 selling mount company for hondas, even though they offer the cheapest mounts? why is it that their original adjustable shift linkage had to be revised because too many epople were having their shift linkage come apart (myself being one of them. and why the hell would u need an adjustable linkage...i think its dumb) sure the hcp may be a great mount for auto x or road racing, but personaly i can say it sucks for daily driving due to the poistion it puts the motor in. i saw that u said you had a b16...but would u happen to have a jdm itr header? if it wasn't for my skidplate, the header would be fugged...the skid plate seriosuly sits about 2 inches off the ground. but anyways, back to my original question...anyone know how much higher the hasport sits than the hcp?

Maybe you should get a header designed for your engine. I would do that before I changed mounts. From my understanding, the Hasport kit makes the motor sit more towards the front of the car, the HCP kit sits more toward the firewall. I really don't think switching to Hasport mounts is going to give you much more ground clearance at all.

The car was invloved in a hit and run(other car hit and ran
) and it pushed my brother to a curb and he was about 5 ft in the air after impact. when the car fell the wheels looked like the Delorean wheels in back to the future before it took off and flew. when we got the car home the engine was 100% in the same spot from before the accident. mounts were perfect and not tweaked at all. this is why im biased. if you are going to lower the car stiffen up the springs. this will help nicely with bottoming out if its an issue. if you are scraping over everything you drive over then maybe the JDM ITR header isnt the wisest choice. it is a damn good header but if its only going to last a month or so then have a huge hole in it the cons will out weigh the pros. ill call around and see if can get an understanding of the height difference between mounts. from what i understand it cant be more than an inch to inch and a half. dont want to leave you hanging on your original question

1)sorry to hear that happend, and hopefully your bro turned out all right. but the result in once experience hardly reflects the quality of a product. how do u know what w/ a avid, hasport, place racing kit the same thing wouldn't have happend? u really dont...
2) why should i get an engine designed specifically for my engine when there's another header that fits just as well, which will make a ton more power especially w/ the mods i'm planning on doing?
and dont worry about it, i just talked to a HT member and he switched hcp to hasport and said that the hasport mounts sit about 2 inches higher than hcp. thanks justin

Just my $.02.....
I had a set of HCP mounts with my LS swap. I noticed that, however great they were for 0 engine movement (really, 0 engine movement, it was stiff as hell :D ), i did however notice that it placed the engine low in the engine bay. Also, it tilted the engine towards the front of the engine bay in such a way that the header that was installed into the integra i got the engine from would not fit until i had the muffler shop heat the downpipe and bend it down so it would line up with the exhaust.
I have never had HASport mounts, although i hear they are quite good. HCP mounts are still good mounts, and almost the cheapest set you can get that are halfway decent.
They do sit the engine low, and like i said, tilted towards the front of the engine bay.

yah those hcp moutns do sit way low .. my homies actually was so low that the undrer pulley was cutting the torsion bar in half .. it was almost half way through before we seen it.. the car wasent that low so it didnt bottom out that much.
