Ya, its a fairly complete system out there. Better than drag, the other kit made for the 6th gen accord.

Only probs is my turbo came with a bad seal so it had to be replaced. The Oil fittings were not of good quality. They forgot the Map Sensor Bypass. Everything was resolved at the cost of only shipping the parts back.

This kit looks good and fits good. Puts down alot of power too so it is made well.

Kack

P.S. watch out for the Water Injection system, it just went out on me after 3 k miles....ARGGGGGHHHHHHh

I have the kit for my car too.. .fits well, and made good power... although it is sometimes hard to get in contact w/ F-Max they resolved all probs asap.. i had a defective MF-2 unit and also a defective Missing link.. both were replaced at no cost.. they even did 2-day shipping... im very happy with the quality..

automatic will not hold up. It really wont. I sold my auto for a manual just for the turbo.

To tell you the truth, it can hold up. Just can't sustain that much boost. A number of people of Honduh have boosted auto F23s. Here is a list of those members.

6thGenAccord1 (recently swapped to manual)
stinker504 (still going through his custom setup)
aznxphreak
awolaccord99 (soon to be turbo)
iam7head (also an H-T member)
Fred Cook (Level Ten package, but is getting the JR S/C once released)

Aren't you contradicting yourself a lil? I mean, the F-max kit is designed to run at 8 psi. The tranny will 'hold up' but not for very long. I agree tho on how much boost you are running determines if your auto will hold up. Basically the auto is alot weaker than than the manual, and so it would be a very good idea to boost the manual instead. Level 10 upgrade + torque converter + tranny cooler will definitely do the trick but at huge costs...

Its also alot more fun and more practical since more power is put down with a manual.

P.S. My auto tranny died on me after 23 k miles of NA daily driving. My two other friends had theirs die at 35 k and 41 k. One had 98 accord, the other had 01. Honda had problems with some 6th gen auto transmissions. Atleast make sure urs is not about to fall apart before turbo'ing.

Okay, let me clarify. A boosted auto can handle around 5-6psi without any problems. The T3/T4 that comes with the F-Max kit, like you said, is designed for up to 8psi. What I meant by "that much boost" was more than 8psi, depending on what turbo parts you change. My motor has around 45k on it, and everything is still in working order.

Let's not forget accordexchange, and his boosted auto F22. Haven't heard of any problems yet.

How did you get around the immobilizer issue with the OBD1 conversion? I take it that you used a 94-95 F22 Vtec ecu?

I thought v6 autos couldn't handle turbo. Several failures and dead trannies for those who tried.

I think this one company is R&Ding a new transmission for the Accord V6 (6th gen) that is bullet-proof. Can't wait for the update.

FYI Fmax was bought out by turbonetics. Turbonetics now sells the kits but they are still called Fmax Kits...

cool topic because i have this neighbor who wants to take his turbo form turbochargers.com off his evo and make me a custom turbo to run about 5-6 psi, but my accord is auto. But im sure it will hold it. How much does a new tranny cost? and how much hp will i gain approx.? the whole deal is everything i need including blow off valve for $1400. sound good? its all custom too.

500 for a used tranny 98-02, they are good for boost, as strong as prelude gear but with longer gearing=more boost per gear.

but in more for a swap you'll need some more parts-search

On my F23 at 6 psi i make 205 hp 204 Tq. The auto 'SHOULD' be ok for that amount of power....it might not last long tho. 1400 sounds good, but it all depends on the quality of the parts. What fuel management is he giving you? What kinda turbo?
