I know that the TA has the off the line advantage. I was wondering how well a fairly stock Type-R can do against one from a roll. Please post any experience racing them and try to inform if it was an auto or six speed. I am thinking that a Type-R against an older LT1 with a fair amount of miles might be a good run.
if its stock and he blows the launch, you MIGHT win. But the only way to know for sure it to run him. Are you afraid to lose? There is no shame in losing unless you've run your mouth off.
Oh and as much as you say things have changed, things remain the same.

No one in particular wants to run me. I was just wondering what speed would be the best to go from if the chance arises.
From my own experience in my old car stock GS-R and not the ITR. I was driving my 98 GS-R and I raced a friend that drove a 99 FireBird with Ram-Air Kit on it Automatic. Lets just say that I never raced that car again till this day. Got BLOW OUT really bad!
If it's an earlier LT-1, you should do quite well against it on the roll. I raced an LT-1 TA once (keep in mind, my ITR is one of the slower ones, putting out only 162hp w/AEM) and from a rolling 1st gear punch I held him off til mid 4th gear. He started out with his nose at my rear bumper, and by the time all was said and done, his nose was at my passenger door.
Another time I raced one on the freeway from the top of 3rd to 5th gear. I sailed past it easily. It said "Z28" on the side and had the dual square exhaust tips, but it looked kind of run down and probably not up to 100% operating conditino.

Most lt1 F-Bodies are 13 second cars from the factory. As long as they are running properly, they will kill you bad if your integra is stock. A good friend of mine has a 95' Z28 and he went 13.3@105 with just an intake.
From what I have seen those things are really inconsistant.I have seen some stock ones run 14's some 13's.If you are a good driver you should be able to hold him off until 4th.

LT1 F-Body's are pretty brutal. Especially the 96-97 Camaro SS. Those will spank you even harder. Stock for stock their is no comparison. The F-Body will win all acceleration contests hands down. If it's a clapped-out older, auto, with a crappy driver you may do OK. But from my experience with n/a hybrids and ITR's, LT1's are better targets when you have a Turbo B18C. Like the one in my Sol.
I've spanked 1 or 2 F-bodys but it was hard work either way. And we're talking about a 10 psi/B18C in a 2300lb del Sol. That should say a lot. 98+ LS1's dont even bother with if your running a near-stock R. Just my .02 cents.

Ths ls1 cars are just plain stupid. There is a guy that kinda hangs out with all of my friends. He has a 99 ram air firebird. With just a k&n filter it ran 13.0 with some sick mph. Those things are really hard to beat.
