USDM vs. JDM ITR corner weight
Does anyone know if the USDM ITR has been re-balanced for left-handed driving position? I mean, JDM ITR is RHD model and BM vdo specifies that it's optimally balance w/ 136lb driver in the car. What about USDM ITR? I know we get shafted with many JDM goodies, but what about this fundamental excercise of "proper" corner weight??? Anyone care to comment?!? Thanks.
well, if they had balanced it for americans, then it's probably balanced for 300lbs or so.
seriously, though, america is the most obeise country, thanks to fast food joints, and people just not eating properly (over-eating).

Sorry, I don't know the answer, but that's just too funny. I don't know many "USDM's" who are only 136 lbs!!
Anyway, asking this question, 'cuz when I take this 270 deg right turn (on-ramp to Ronald Reagan for those in ATL), the car feels like it's about to shoot out of line. Oh well, maybe just time to put extra 200lbs in the driver seat to counter-weigh the car.
I weight around 110 on a day where I ate alot and 105 on an average day.
I have a waist a bit smaller than 28. And I fit comfortably inside JDM ITR's Recaro.

No. Put your car on some corner scales and you will find out. Almost all autos built originally as right hand drive when brought to the North American market are left heavy, the ITR included.
110!? WTF? How tall are you man? 3 feet?
I weigh 220, am 5'11' and have a 34" waist. and definitely should look into corner weighting.....
DB1-R81 : who does corner weighting (and has scales) around Van? All I know is that Levitt Auto does it - IF the guy is there.....

oh to answer you question...you'll notice that certain parts in the engine bay are positioned differently in the USDM compared the JDM...this is to distribute weight evenly as well as making room for the steering column
In a LHD ITR you can really feel that you can take a left corner faster than a comparable right corner when you are alone in the car. How about that in a RHD ITR? Can you take right corners faster?
euroITR, i know exactly what you mean! there's this desolate, twisty section of road that i love to drive, and i can always take the left-handers a bit faster than the rights . . . interesting . . .
Thanks for the responses guys. I've gotta really try out making hard lefts and hard rights when I get my bucket seat in. Damn, it sucks that the car is left heavy for us.
