Default How to add HID to my EG?

I've been thinking of how to add HID to my 94 EG hatch. What would be the best kit out there? I want a true HID. Is Philips Xenon equal to HID? Its quite confusing. I don't want to spend money on some silly blue bulbs.

There are true HID kits, and there are bulbs that give a HID "look". You will know a true HID kit when you buy it, they arent cheap.

a true hid system will require a ballast and usually a d2s or d2r bulb. get a shield that will adapt tp your headlights (h4) it may also make for a better cutoff line. aftermarket clear (non-fluted) lenses will help too.

Ive noticed that the OEM retro fit kits look way better than the aftermarket ones.

I30 projector in del sol headlights

unfortunately no unfluted lense cause there are no aftermarket headlights available

you can get unfluted oe style headlights for civics (96+ already has them stock) but theres no love for the sol.

You will need to either get an H4 HID kit or get H4 Adapters. I would say go with OEM HIDs(Honda, BMW, Audi etc..). And get the H4 adapter/shield so that you don't completely blind the **** out of all oncoming traffic. I have this set up, and I'm not too happy with it. I'm in the middle of doing a retrofit type project.

For best results get some Projector headlights and retrofit in some OEM Projectors. That means you get projectors from an S2000 or BMW and replace the crappy foglight projecters that will come in any and all projecter headlights you buy for your civic with the OEM projectors. This will give you the best lighting and cutoff you can get.
