gasket romoval

ok I blew a head gasket and wanted to know what the best way to get the old burnt on gasket off?

It's hell. On my rebuild I just used a razor. I think you MAY be able to get away with using one of those rubber gasket brushes but it's aluminum so be careful. Very soft metal.

anyone know any stores in the portland oregon area that carys gasket remover. or just genaral stors that have it?

Get the head machined. For the block, get a gasket scraper tool from your autoparts store. Worked for me

Well I did this yesterday....... I used a razor for the easy stuff, then a putty knife, site there and scrub it but dont scratch it! It will come off eventually...or at least it did with mine
