you can try to retap w/ the same size, you may have to go to something larger if its that messed up

If your threads are completly fucked then you will have to tap the hole to a bigger size and use a heli coil. I dont know how well a heli coil will work on a flange though. In other words Im not sure if it will just screw out the other side of the flange. You could probably get it to work though. Just **** with it some. It worked fine on my exhaust manifold to head bolts.

seems like a waste of money....

is there any way to put a longer bolt in the hole and than put a nut on the backside instead of using the manifold threads..

if not than use the heli coil method..that **** works.

Agreed. Thats just too much work for a bolt whole. If he cant fit a bolt behind it than a heli coil would do the trick if he feels like ******* with keeping it lined up with the hole.

Those dont look to bad. A tap should be able to clean that right up.

The bolts that screw into my sfp manifold actually broke off in the manifold and i had to get them machined out. We were able to retap all but one of them and the one we had to use a heli coil. To prevent anymore bolts from getting stuck in the flange we decided to use studs and brass nuts. This worked rezally well and i'm no longer worried about getting the damn bolts in and out.

id just use a slightly larger tap on all of those... im guessing those are m8 i think threads? use the american equiv, it should be just a tad larger. should have 0 problems.

they are 3/8X24 tpi, SO...maybe use a 14mm honda bolt? They are close(and probably what caused the original strippage), and w/force will go in. I say get some studs/nuts, get them in as best you can, and be done....

i had to use metric bolts w/ your manifold, the american sizing ones at ace did not fit. it caused strippage of two threads

thats very odd, you sure you had a fine thread(24 TPI)? Maybe Ill just switch over to a metric style thread to begin with. I chose the american thread because almost EVERY hardware store has that size...Sam, do your bolts go in and out easily now???

manifold is sold bro.

and i did use fine thread (had to with the metric)

they just didnt have the right size or something... it was barely too small. i figured you had just chosen to use the 14mm (m8), but it was a VERY tight fit and i fucked up the threads extremely badly on one of the taps
