What tie rod ends do I use for lowered CRX??????
I have a 1990 Crx Si that is lowered with Intrax springs and it has brand new OEM outer tie rods. I went to have it aligned and thet can't align it because the tie rods are screwed all the way to the end of th e threads. Is my car to low or what? Can I cut my tie rods to give them more space?
there should be plenty of thread, no matter how low. something must be wrong. cant really help you any further, it just shouldnt be like that.
I forgot to mention that I have 90-93 Interga front spindles on my car, but my buddy had them on his CRX and his car was lower than mine and he had no problems. I don't understand this???
Thats your problem right there. The 90-93 teggy spindles are not the ones to go with. Either get 90-91 Civic EX ones or the SIR ones. But even with the real SIR ones, my friend still had to cut some of the threads on the part that went into the outer tie rod. I have always heard that the teggy ones were not the correct ones to use but try cutting what i just mentioned if those threads bottom out inside the tie rod. Get what im saying??

I have 90 teg steering kuckles(spindles) with no probs the only diff is in the toe.
Once you have the the tegs installed you have to just adjust the toe. There should be enough thread for you to adjust or try another alignment shop.

That goes to show that everyone has a different opinion. I know of a personal friend that tryed to go with the 90-93 teg spindles and he said it kinda messed up the suspension geometry and the shop couldnt get it aligned *properly*. Have u already had your car aligned with the teg spindles on it? If so, what was the toe set at?

You Shouldn't have any problem with the geometry

My buddy had the same Integra spindles as I do and his car is lower and it aligned fine and that is what we dont understand. We both used the same parts.
Keep in mind things like the knuckles and stuff have a 5* factory tolerance. Meaning not all of them are exactly the same, but if it was put into production it was close enough. But 5* in alignment talk is huge numbers. So some people luck out with Integra knuckles, some don't. Thats just the way it is.

AHH, the SiR ones are almost too short, and the tie rods are longer than DX ones. I know I have them on my car, pulled from a half cut I bought. If you CUT anything with SiR knuckkles you wouldn't even get the tie rods screwed on at all.
