b16 idles hi with MAP, idles normal with out MAP....
heres the problem the motor idles very hi like 2-3k with the map pluged in. I disconect the line from the nipple (external MAP) and the idle goes to normal around 700. The weird thing is when the map is disconected the idle doesnt bounce like how it should. It should shoot up and down from 1500 to 700 over and over. But im not having this problem with this car. I have tried alot of things like messing with the tps and so and i havent gotten anywhere...any takers in this???
Take off your intake tube while this is happening...
inside your throttle body you will see 2 little orifaces The top one leads to your Idle air control valve, the bottom one is your cold start idle air valve (manual) while the idle is incredibly high or boucing. Put your finger over one of the holes to decifer which valve is doing all the idle problems.
If its the Normal IACV you may have a air bubble in your cooling system, and need to bleed it out, or you have a shitty Iac.
The bottom one is ******* gay, and always causes people problems. I normally take them off and jb weld them shut so they cant work. Otherwise you need to take it apart and clean it.
Those are the 2 things that control your idle, you may have wiring issues and what not. Also check for vacuum leaks with carb clean, thats an easy check.
