I realize this is not ITR related, but I thought it was important to mention that I had a close call tonight. I just was getting home from the bar (I bartend). I was getting home about 1:15am. I start to try to relax and take stuff out of my pockets, when I thought I might have heard something outside...

I take a quick look and see that there are two cars outside of my house...both with thir lights off>!? The first car was a grey 4 dr Accord. Probably a late 80's to early 90's. It's right next to my CRX. WTF?! Then a second carload of guys in a red 4 dr Pontiac Sunfire is right behind them.

I come STORMING out of my house and say, HEY, WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON>! They yell something back and all take off. I run back into the house and grab my Mossberg 590 12 gauge. I quickly throw in 2 shells, **** the slide to have one ready to go and run back outside...

They're gone. ****! I would've seriously shot off the gauge once in the air to show them to NEVER **** with me or my neighborhood again.

Damn. So I called the cops and like 6 cop cars show up in about 10 minutes!!! WOW! I gave them descriptions and hopefully they'll find those punks.

For those of you that know I haven't been here in a long time...basically, that's one of the most exciting things that has happened in quite some time for me. LOL.

Fucken' thieves/vandals. THANK GOD it wasn't my R or I would've chased them down WITH my shotgun in my car...

I don't think anything related to car thieves is "OT", since we're all very concerned about <u>all</u> our cars... They may have been after your 'R and were going to take the CRX as a bonus!?

Did they see your ITR? or just your CRX? If they saw your ITR I'd say they're likely to come back.

 

Yeah I have the 590 also, it holds 9 shells right? Just a FYI don't shoot the gun even as a warning shot because, at least in Texas, thats grounds for arrest.
On a side note you should also get a pistol like a G17 must easier to chase the tieves away.

 

Actually, in Texas he would have been justified in just running out and opening fire on their butts....attempted or in process car theft at night is a shootable offense here....

 

I mentioned this yesterday and it's worth repeating again today. I think we should all remove the "City, ST" from our profiles. Any lurking thief's can see where all the Typer's are located, then do a search by email address to find our home address. A couple days later, you don't have an R anymore.

We're making it way too easy for the thieves to steal our prized possesions. Just something to think about.

 

They didn't see my R since she's locked up in the garage and hasn't left there in about 3 weeks. If they come back...they are going to be in a world of hurt after I get done with them.

Yeah I have the Mossberg 590. It holds 9 shells, it's black, it has the shortest legal barrel length, and it has a nice heat shield. VERY intimidating gauge.

I also have a Bersa .380 pistol. I have hollow points locked and loaded, but I figured the shotgun would be better for this situation.

Bersa .380...semi or revolver? if its a semi and you leave it loaded the spring in the magazine will get weak and you might have a feeding problem.

Just making sure you don't get stuck with a jamned gun and fail to get those punks.
