h22 swap question

Default h22 swap question

im putting an h22 into a 92si 4ws lude and i was wondering if its possible to just pull the h23 harness and plug the h22 harness in and then figure out how to get the vtec and the other couple things that need wired to the ecu

I just successfully did this swap.

Are you saying you wanna pull the old H23 wirirg harness and replace it with the H22?? first off is it OBD1 or 2 if its OBD2 then yes that is what your gonna have to do since some plugs are specific for some sensors. After that its 3 wires you need to run from the vetc seleniod and vetec pressure control to the ecu thats it.

For most part its a straight forward swap.

why do you want to use the timing belt tensioner from the h23?

probably cause its a manual tensioner and the h22 is an automatic one

why would the manual tensioner be better than the auto?

because it supposedly can overtighten your timing belt on a high reving high HP engine, causing it to potnetially fail prematurely. also its supposed to be stronger.
