Default JG to Skunk 2 drops times

Okay, I wanted the skunk2 but running out of time I had to get the JG with that said the motor is a b18c1 with 4into1 dc header, crap exhaust, skunk2 manifold, type r cams, ITR CAI .... Also note this motor is in a Dx 92 that weights 2250

With the JG the time was
R/T .236
60ft 2.255
330 6.323
1/8th 9.618
mph 73.74
1000ft 12.453
1/4 14.854
mph 94.08

time with the skunk2 manifold
R/T .173
60ft 2.206
330 6.048
1/8th 9.220
mph 77.08
1000ft 11.948
1/4 14.284
mph 95.62

As you can see the skunk2 is better for a stock motor with just bolt ons... Should be faster but I can't drive so i'll live with it.

I really didn't know about honda-tech at the time but soon realized that after I found this site.

The skunk2 is deffinatly better for all motor especially a stock motor but I'm not sure it would change that much mph. What was the temp differance between the 2 different runs?

The last time I ran the 14.8 was september or july kinda kewl but still humid... IN memphis the humidity is bad.... Last night it was pretty chilly got a 95.62 ....

Also I ran a 14.3 at 92mph that was my first run.. .SO who knows.

lol. Excellent data. Thanks. We all know there are absolutely no variables when it comes to drag racing.

the benefits from the jg manifold are generally seen between 8000-10,000 rpm's on high hp motors. your rev limit is 8250 and your hp is pretty low.

I was only messing with you man But yeah the JG has a big *** plenum and it takes a lot of air to push in there in order to take advantage of something like it. The skunk2, from what I understand, is kinda like the type R IM where it just flows alot better at mid to high range RPM. Do you have any future plans for the car?

Welcome to the board and have fun.

JG no longer has a hand in the manifold, as they hardly ever did. it's a pure Edelbrock piece now.

and it's a DAMN good manifold for the money too. RLZ made good power all motor with theirs. And in turbo situations, it's a great piece to have.

Yes ,thats not JG but JG-Edelbrock ....
how about this ?? -- > http://jgenginedynamics.com/In...eries
They cut type-r runner and then straps on a custom plenum on it...

the Edelbrock intake manifold probably didnt provide enough backpressure for the motor so you ended up losing power while the smaller designed skunk2 did and gave you torque and power... economic way of thinking when dealing with motors... an equilibrium between supply and demand

Well thats a really bad comparison because on the 14.85 it looks like you missed 2nd gear or something happened... because there is no way you lost .3 by the 330ft and .4 by the 1/8th with similar 60fts... and then you went from 74mph to 94mph - 20mph in crease... but 77 to 95 18mph increase...

Not saying that the JG is better then the Skunk... just saying that your comparision isn't fair
