Removing EVAP system??
Im not really sure how it works or why I need it, I just know its related to emissions. But Ive heard that since my motor is no where near stock anymore, and Im running a standalone ECU, that I can remove the entire EVAP system because its basically useless. I think its a big black canister near the IM?? I did a quick search for EVAP, and didnt really find what I was looking for as far as what its needed for and if I can/should remove it. Its not a big deal but its just one more thing that isnt needed so why not remove it. I just dont know where to begin or what exactly to remove. I got the Helms so I could probably get by with that.
I left the canister in , beucase i was told thats the smartest choice becuas eit catches some gases or sometihng, i removed everytjhing else with it though. there wa slike a sensor on the firewall, and like 2 vac lines and i think something else, its been a while , my cars runs fine without it though.
its har dto say without looking at it , but the ones that attach to that sensor on the firewall right behind the intake manifold can go and everything going to the canister can go , if you want you can prob remove the can too , but i never did it.
I was taking a look at the Helms, it looks like I can remove the evap control canister, the evap purge control valve, the PVC valve, and associated lines. Im guessing I can just plug any connections that are left open? Anyone disagree with removing that stuff?

i still left my pcv valve in , it still feed to that black box thing in tyhe back of the block , if you dont have that on , it will leak oil .
back from the dead.
any other tips or things I should watch out for? I wanna get rid of this crap as half the lines back there are just loose and not secured down to anything.

so u can take this whole system out and not throw any codes or have no idling probs.
i really want to take mine out to, but wasnt sure.
doesnt the black canister catch fuel tank moisture buildup or something?
so u guys just took your out and plugged all the vacuum hoses or all the hoses leading to or from the evap canister?

i removed everything. all that black canister does is hold the fumes/vapors from the gas tank. i took mine all out and took a piece or mesh or fabric or something and clamped it over the line from the firewall so no water or **** gets into it. my car stinks like hell with all the **** i have done to it , hahaha , but it goes fast. just remember unless you have an emissions hook up , think twice about it
