Default Power Loss

I got a question for anyone who wants to take a shot at it. I just bought a type-r in may. Right now i'm at about 10k miles. 2 days ago I raced it really hard, nothing bad, just hard. After I raced I noticed a huge drop in power from my low-end range. It's like the car is unresponsive. There aren't any OBDII errors to indicate where the problem is, and my VTEC kicks in just as hard as it did before. There isn’t any squealing or chatter noises to indicate that the problem is a slipping clutch either. I am out of Ideas, and Acura can't even tell me where to start looking. Has anyone ever encountered this? Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Distressed

I thought about that. So, I put 94Oct from sunoco in, and tried a fuel treatment too. Niether seemed to do the trick.

You have 10,000 miles on it and your losing power? Why don't you just take it to the dealer and have them find the problem? Oh, BTW, I got my car in Feb. of 2000 and I have 38,000 miles on my R.

Hey Reid! You suck! I would say that probably 85% of my miles are highway miles being I drive 25 miles to work and 25 miles back 4 days a week and I drive 22 miles to and from my g/f's house several times a week too. GOD DAMN I NEED A HYBRID SO I WON'T DRIVE MY "R" FOR A LONGTIME! I need something fun, quick, and cheap so my "R" can have a long rest.

Well I guess I don't feel so bad now. What # is your R? Is it anywhere close to my #? Just wondering. I am not that far behind you though.

Took it to the dealer...the dealer can't do anything if there isn't an OBDII error (they won't know where to start. That's why I'm writing the group. I wasn't writing to see who had the most miles (although some are impressive). Can anyone help with the real question though?

that's what they told you? sheesh. remind them of your 3 yr/36K mile bumper-to-bumper warranty . . . and if they still don't do anything, go to acura [headquarters].

I'd call bullshit.... If there is something wrong with the car it is their job, not yours, to find out what it is and fix it....

Acura cancled my warranty when the car was stock...But only after i broke 3 trannies..the 4th one i bought @ 48800 miles..but they installed for free..when they where installing..they noticed the block was cracked at the engine boss and they gave me a new block for free..but when my car was there (John Eagle Acura) in Houston...the employee's stole my keys and came back at night and stole parts off my car..cops happen to drive by and caught them...then they tried too charge me twice for rental car..i had proof i paid already.. they threatened too put a machanics lean on my car unless it paid again..they were bein ******** cause i wanted my car re-keyed and they had too replace the parts that were stolen...(keys were never found after employee's stole them) i was gettin ready to kick some ***..i kicked the door off the hinges to the svc dept.. and went too the showroom and told all the customers to go somewhere else.. because the employess here are thieves.. a week after that i got a letter that from Houston area tech reps RICK HALE & JOHN KEYS sayin my warranty was void on all new parts on my car..even the new tranny i just baught and paid for...cause "someone" told them i race my car in competion..which is not true..SHITTY HUH..

damn!!!!!
Anyway to the original question..hmm maybe you got so used to the VTEC pull that you just cannot get used to the lack of turque down low...
i hope the problem is a psycological one..if not then I hope you get it fixed soon. Please keep us posted as to the outcome.

Oil is only 1k miles old and I use only Castrol Full Syntec with a Fram 4X filter. With that combo I SHOULD be good for 7k miles, but I still change it every 2,500-3,000.

I wondered about that (if it was just me). So, I took it to the dealer. Everyone there recognizes the problem, but everyone is at a loss as to what it could be...they even have a "specially trained, and certified God of all Gods mechanic". I just wanted to see if anyone else had any issues like this ever, and what they did to resolve them......GEEZE THIS SUCKS! (Thanks for the input though).
