here is a good question.. for 1500 what should i get?
head work and cams?
has anyone ran the edelbrock or crower cams.. i want a changed idle with higher
rpm range.. all i have now is a mugen chipped ecu & i/h/e
or should i keep droppin dimes in the piggy bank for a turbo?.. im looking for low 13s high 12s.. understood 1500 wont get me much.. i just dont want to waste it on an upgrade i dont need..

go turbo...i am in the process of building up my turbo project and I have spent around $1200 and its almost complete. all i need now is the misc **** i.e. some gaskets, oil lines, vac lines, piping and thats it. Its good stuff too. But it has taken me a long time to get what I have but its out there for a good deal if you take your time. IMO go turbo.

cams dont make a higher redline, i mean it helps but you need bored out tb and high flow intake mani. thats what will give you a higher redline. cams will just boost the powerband u have already, not make it higher

Thats not true at all. You can rev all you want, but if your cams aren't making power, whats the point. But before you even do that, you need a valvetrain upgrade to handle the rpms. Obviously t/b and IM help the car breathe too, but its all a system and your trying to improve your VE.
IMO go turbo if you want to make real power.

DO NOT USE CROWER CAMS 4 out of 5 cars I have installed them in have snapped if not the cams the valve springs broke Go with skunk2 stage 2 cams valve springs and retainers and put a fuel pump in your car with a FPR and thats will give you some more pep.

This is my with full throttle we bought motors from tese people at least 15 per month for about 1 year or so Untill about 2 months ago when he started to do us wrong 1st he would sell us b16's with no dizzy's as aposed to the deal we had with them broken sensors also not part of the deal bad compression etc. Then we started getting alot of our Nissan swaps from him iuntill we had a decent size order we go there make the order and he says everything is in stock ready for pick up that we can take it today (Wednesday) so I explain that I have my hatch with me and not the truck and he says no problem come get them on friday so I say no problem now I went back to the shop and the rest of that day and the next I got the customers cars prepped for the swap took out the old motors harness' etc. I go back friday and he is like Oh well we have no harness' no ecu's missing one turbo blah blah blah we were like OK thats understandable he has bin doing buisness with us for a while this must be an honest mistake so he is like I will have everything this upcomming week(Mind you this is on a friday and he says upcomming wednesday the latest) SO wednesday he says tommorow then thursday the same thing for over a month then he says he cant get some of the stuff then he says he found it on ebay and he will order it wee he never ordered it this is all about another month of BS so now I have customer cars in the shop for 2 months with no motors expecting the turn around time I had once told them there is alot more things but you get the point
Hey I totally agree you turboZChatch. Kenny is a chicken, he only can talk and bull **** all the time. I worked there before, and something happened at his shop, police came in and search around. At that time he was in his store ( shop and store are 2 different location). After he know something going on at his shop he closed the store for that day and hided. what a fu*king chicken

no cams are what make you power through the rpm range... to have a safer higher redline you need the valvetrain (valve springs and retainers). With the valve train built you can rev higher, BUT no point in reving higher if you don't have the mods (TB,IM,Cams...etc..) to make power up there.
