You have the gearset AND final drive?

Wondering what you plan to do with a car equipped with such gearing?

113.4 MPH @ 8400 RPM on 23.1" diameter tires (which are 205/50/15's) to be a bit more exact.

For autocross, could be interesting depending on motor setup.

For Roadcourse, I can't think it would be worth it, and the top speed in each gear, especially 5th would limit it a bit too much.

ken (black r) or black rocker or wutever has it or is going to be running it

i think its over kill

at least get the jdm fd

you will prolly loose time in an autocross from having to shift soo much

if its free, then why not. unless you are launching at 2.5k and have sticky tires, kiss first and 2nd gear good bye if you have decent amount of power

I believe AJ Pwr has tried different ATS transmission parts and I remember they highly recommended that do one or the other, but not both.

Which magazine if I may ask?

And, just out of curiosity, how did you stumble upon or decide to do the ATS FD/gears? Did you guys research a bit on the gear ratios before you dropped that chunk of change, or,,,?

i don't think he'll get a good 60 foot as he'll probably have to shift 3 times....

Let me get this straight. Your magazine wrote an article called "GET 'N GEAR
CHOOSING THE BEST GEARS FOR MAX PERFORMANCE " and you didn't even test out the products?? I don't understand. Please don't take this as rudeness, I am just confused about this. (and no, I didn't read the article...enlighten me as to its contents)

we have a computer program where we enter in your cars specific dyno graph (in this case my itr and my friends turbo gsr EK), and you then can change the settings for each gear, final drive, wieght, etc... we had a lot of different combinations and it would be impossible for us to test each one... so the computer program lets us see how well it performs in the quater mile... the ATS gear set with a 5.0 fd was the best.. but we opted to use all ATS products for a comparision to our computer program...

DRAG Sport issue #9.. check it out.. the computer program is really accurate too..

I drove my buddy's car with the whole ATS setup Clutch, gears and LSD w/ 4.9. 2nd gear is like 1st gear. I would go 4.7 with the ATS gears if you drive daily.

Robbie...as an FYI, running stock USDM 1-5, and the JDM 4.785 at Buttonwillow, Race#14 CCW I was hitting speeds of ~125mph on the dog leg, and Big Willow coming into #8 I was ~127mph...so you should be hitting the rev limiter in 5th gear unless you install a higher rev limiter(although I know that you already have this). These speeds were indicated on the speedometer, so who knows what the actual speeds were.

If this is the hatch back that Lawrence had at the dyno a few weeks ago I can attest that that thing had the shortest gearing I have ever seen.

.....what he said on the daily thing.

Spoon also has an interesting gearset - kind of like a cross between the ATS and Quaife:

The ATS 1,3,4 and 5th gear set is really really nice. I really love it with the stock FD.
But with the 4.9 or 4.7 FD I feel it maybe a little over kill. Even with a raised rev limit you are bound to run out of gearing on a road course and as far as for Autocross I have no clue how it would benifit you.

For God's sakes, this was 2 months ago, I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning.

But, your information was what I expected regardless.

Depends on where you are geographically (local going rates) or if you have freinds like D and the we todd's who'll just do it all for you for free. Mine cost about $400. I believe and also included installing a LW FW.
