on my z i bought an entire gasket kit when i replaced the heads. i paid almost $200 for the kit, and only used 8 gaskets and seals out of the entire kit, when i could have bought them individually for less than $50. my question is when i replace the head, tbelt and water pump, do i really need an entire kit, or are there just a few gaskets that i can buy individually and save some money? not trying to go the cheap way necessarily, i do want to do this right, but i dont want to spend unnecessary money either. thanks guys.

 

last time i put a head on a honda the only gasket i replalced was the head gasket. all the others were in great shape and i reused them all since it was only valvfe cover gaskets anywayt.

 

you really only need the head gasket, although you might need the IM gasket, since sometimes they stick and tear. all the others you can replace if you need them

 

yeah, i'd reuse the others. def. replace the head gask. and probably exh. mani gask.
