Could something involving the alternator be causing a ticking noise while accelerating?
My car now makes a ticking noice that gets progressively faster when the car is reved or accelerates. I popped the hood and manually reved it using the thottle body and the noice seems to be coming from the right side of the motor, nearest the alternator, and belts...possible from behind the intake manifold of my d16z6...any help is better then now help...thanks in advance,
In my experiences... ticking came from either
"One, Pistons because of friction due to lack of oil. VW/Audi Engine"
"Two, dry or dirty belts, which can be remedied temporarily with some STP Belt Dressing."
That's all I know about it.

My Integra makes a clicking noise too. Well when I start it up it does. It ticks for a while. Sound like it comes from under the valve cover (thought it might be from injectors). Once the car has been driven for a while it doesn't seem to make that noise but otherwise I can hear it quicken as I rev up. Still don't know what it is.
you may want to try adjusting your valves, just to be sure, if it isn't it does not hurt only improves.
I get a clicking noise when it's cold too. I'm curious, with the belt conditioning stuff...how do belts click? Sometimes it does sound like it's coming from my timing belt somehow.

I've got the same prob. w/ my dohc zc. When it's cold out, the ticking is kinda loud, but after I drive it for a while, it stops.
