How do you get 33 mgp when you get around 300 miles per tank. Your tank should be around 14 gallons (if it is tha same as a 96), and I'm sure it's not totally empty when you fill it up. 300 miles from 13 gallons is 23 mpg. Maybe you meant 23 mpg?

My 96 with 125,000 miles gets about 280 miles for 13 gallons = about 21.5 mpg straight city driving. Haven't checked highway mileage recently. Not sure if this is good or bad. I don't think it's too bad. I'd expect +25 mpg highway.

I don't know how many miles i get to the gallon since my speed sensor went out. but some ways to save some gas is to empty out that trunk. Stay out of Vtec, and when on interstate put your car on cruise control.

2 things:
1.in a SOHC vtec, its really hard to tell when the vtec kicks in, so sometimes you wont even realize it
2.in a SOHC the vtec engagement is variable, so youd have to guess at when its gonan kick in every time you shift

my advice: just dont floor it
