I pulled the head off the block, set it on my table, and suddenly I had a O-ring about the diameter of the Oil-control jet sitting next to it.

Does the oil-control jet have an external O ring?

Anywhere else this could go? I am 99% sure it came from the head.

There's one small o-ring that goes on the oil control jet...check to see if it's missing. There's a groove (if I can remember right) on the oil control jet where it should go. (assuming the a6 head is similar)

 

Are you talking about the O-ring that goes around the control-jet and seals it into the block?

or is there another O-ring that is Visible when you take the head off?

The oil control jet has not been removed.

Yea, that's the one I'm talking about. I don't see where another o-ring would come from in the head.
