Default Milling b16a2 head, how much do you recommend? street setup

i/h/e,vafc,stock head and bottom end, not planning on any other mods other than tuning tuning tuning

1)How much material do you recommend being removed?
2)I do plan on getting cam gears and the vafc tuned later but is it safe to run it without fuel tuning and adjusted cam gears?

How much do you want to increase compression?

You'll have to use cam gears to compensate your cam timing after milling if you go more than a few thousandths. Other than that your fuel requirements shouldn't change too dramatically.

Even with stock cams, you will need cam gears. Because milling changes the distance between the cam gears and block, it throws off the cam timing. I think its 1 degree per 12 thousanths, or something like that. (research that, though, thats just off the top of my head!!)

So you need to advance both cams to compensate.

You're still going to have to figure out how much compression you want to end up with. Think this all out carefully it cannot be undone. If you just want a small bump in compression then just get a thinner head gasket, you can always go back to stock later.
