If my timing if off will my EGT tell me?
I have an EGT and wideband. I want to know when I get into the boost around 7 psi will my egt go up if my timing is off? What will tell me that my timing is not retarted enough at higher boost?

I really don't knwo too much, but i'll give you my two cents. If the egt gets too hot, it could be from running too lean or the timing is too advanced. If too cool, then it's too rich and too retarted.

Not really Danny,
When the timing is advanced the burn starts sooner in the cycle and has more time to transfer heat to the combustion chamber, water jackets, etc............when it is too late, the heat goes right out the exhasut and makes the EGT's look really high!
Of course fuel mixtures has some effect on this too, but not nearly as much as ignition timing.
