Default Tein Owners, please read...

I have a set of Tein-HA coilovers on my 2000 ITR.

I think that the front driver side strut is damaged...

Every bump I hit, it seems to sound worse. It is EXTREMELY bumpy.

I have noticed this for a while but just assumed that it was really bumpy just because of the stiff suspension.

I am wondering if TEIN has any type of warranty for this AND if this has happened to anyone else here on this board...

Thanks

I have the TEIN HA's as well. What does it sound like. WHat height do you have the coilover set for. I have found that if it is too low, the ride is kind of choppy. The usuall test if your shock is gone is the push down test. You push the front end or wherever you want to test down. If the car bounces after you release insted of just coming back to it's normal postion the shock is gone..

I have HA's as well. They are bumpy the lower I go, obviously, but I usually have the height set almost to stock hieght. For awhile my front left shock would make a loud knocking sound, turned out the nut wasn't tight enough, so I fixed that and it went away.

I believe they have 12 month warranty on there parts but you will have to contact them directly to have the warranty work done. But if your over 12 months old then you maybe out of luck. Mine are ok on my ITR but I've only have around 8 months on them

yeah same here.. i just put in mine along with pillowball mounts.. and it was fine first few days then drivers side got real loud.. i was like wtf? so one night i pop the hood for the hell of it to find that the nut on top is loose.. both of them.. so i got a 10 and a 14 and fixed it right there.. no more noise..

one thing though.. ever since i put the suspension in.. if i brake real hard to a complete stop right before the car would stop i hear a loud clank.. this only happens once in a while.. its a type of a clank like when you are backing up in reverese and tap the brake quickly and hear that pop.. anyone ever experience this? other then that i like my TEINS.. kind of a bitch to adjust due to a helper spring that keeps it always compressed..

yes i also noticed that when i reverse now about 4-5 feet and then slow down to a stop i hear a weird straining noise...i guess i should lift the car back up!

btw, hybrid_eg, how much of a drop did you put on yours?

Same problem too, didn't tighten them down and one of my fronts was just clunking against my hood. Put on some lock-tight and screwed it down (till it was snug) and havne't had a problem since. My mistake was trying to make sense of the instructions, in the one picture they have of the top of the strut it's only screwed down like 4 threads so that's what I did. But yeah, check that, hopefully it's the problem with you too.

For those who installed the Tein's yourself, did you run into problems with the back coilovers? I can't seem to compress and maneuver the coilovers into the socket. Its about 2 inches too long to fit. Any ideas?

I assume by socket you mean you can't fit your shaft into the hole. Errr, something like that. I always remove the upper control arm. I'd undo the one that connects to the trailing arm, since it's pretty easy to crossthread the ones that connect to the chassis (sorry F1 Soul). Then get someone to stand on the hub to push the trailing arm down. Then it should barely squeeze in. It's easier than removing the lower control arms.
