The Acura CL is impressive with its 0-60 in 6.6 sec & 14.8 1/4 mile stock times, but
now the 2002 model gets a new 6 speed, so you know with that 260 horses and a
good driver you'll see beter times. What calls to me the most is I hear that there's
after market suport with simple bolt ons to get the CL type S over 300 horses
without even voiding any part of the warranty. The're two door, look good, can get
with nice navigation system, fast, sporty, awsome style, proven, more back seat
room, and CHEAP for all the car you get. I'm really thinking on trading in the R,
but what I need to know from you guys is will I be sorry in the end, or is this the
best package Acura has to offer for the money?
SO WHAT WOULD YOU DO? AND WHY?

The CL will still weigh too much, and is sloppy. The R will outhandle it all day long, even if they are similar in a straight line. I didn't buy the R for drag racing, and that isn't what it was meant for....

Don't let the weight fool you the CL TYPE S can corner as well of course not as well as an R, but it handles.

If you want support to get rid of your R, try the CL forum...no one here is going to tell you that you'll be happier in a CL, and that's the bottom line TRUTH!

Stupid Fuggin Polls - "D"
I'd rather have my ITR. Never drove a CL...Can't afford it anyways
So realistically I wouldn't even think about it because I'm B-R-O-K-E.
Take it easy
I wanted to beat D to it
But seriously As someone else had Mentioned If we all thought the CL was a better car we would be driving it
If you want a street legal track car - ITR
If you want a cushy sports car feel get a CL Type S

TRUE, but the CL S 6 speed is a new 2002 model and wasn't available when we all
bought are R's. The Type R is awsome, but they're not the best cars in the world. I
mean I'm sure if we all had the money we wouldn't be driving R's It would be
more like NSX, M3, M5, ZO6, **** 911 twin turbo's. I know the CL S is'nt a 911
Porche, but I wanted to know your thoughts of CL S over Type R. Nothing more
nothing less.

(The Acura CL is impressive with its 0-60 in 6.6 sec & 4.8 1/4 mile stock times)
holy crap!!! 4.8 1/4 mile stock times!!
Theres my smartass comment for the day

One more thing... if I were to consider a CL-S, I would actually get a TL-S. It's a definitely sleeper.

How about an e46 m3? Make mine a coupe in black or silver!
Maybe an s2k for the $35k price range?

Do you want a race car or a luxury cruiser? Answer that question and write the check. Both nice cars, but COMPLETELY different.
the CL-S is gonna be killer with a 6-speed manual
the only thing, like mentioned is the handling...if I were to get one that would be my main concern, upgrade that handling as much as possible, cause that is one big car
but damn its gonna be fast...not too mention the aftermarket is picking up on the V-6 engine...and comptech should have a SC out for it sometime later this year or next

there is no comparison here! 6-speed? big shiet. The car still weighs the same, handles the same and looks the same.
I'm sure if we all had the money we wouldn't be driving R's It would be more like NSX
After driving a number of cars, I've found that handling is a lot more important (and fun) to me than all-out speed. I picked the R, obviously. The only thing that sucks is the chances of getting it stolen compared to the Type S.
Type R anyday. Lower curb weight and there made for racing use (on the track of course) but I've seen those old Legend coupes with the Type 2 engine and a six speed really move.
CL is a businessman car. I wouldn't mind having it as a daily driver for going to office purpose only and then take the ITR out on the weekend for thrilling rides and handling. It will never can replace ITR. U start putting rims and aero crap on CL , now u trying to make a car what its not meant to be. My friend use it for office and his NSX for weekend, perfect combo.
