Default Auto-to-Manual Swap

Yo guys what do you think. I am going to have a GSR motor put in my teg but I am a little worried that the auto-to-manual swap is going to royally screw my car up. (I have a 96 SE ls auto) Have you heard any stories about the auto-to-manual swap? good or bad let me know

i cant see how it would screw your car up...just make sure you get all the parts and it should come out fine.

it shouldn't screw anything up. Just make sure you get a competent person to do it. Also, the only auto GS-R ECU is from Japan. So do a manual swap. Good luck.

I'm pretty sure you can put the LS auto tranny on there, but the real problem lies in getting an ECU thats auto, but still controls the DOHC VTEC and dual stage intake manifold.

yeah I am not going to put an auto on a GSR that would be blasphmy...I have a 96 SE that has a ls auto on it now I am going get a GSR manual put into it. So you don't think my reverse lights will work? I'll have to talk to the guys about that... The guys that are doing the work I don't know real well but (I have a back up just in case there is something wrong) they are giving me such a good deal to have all of it done that I can't pass it up.

it'll be fine if you do it right. the only thing i can think of is modifying a tranny mount(welding). if you can make sure that's quality, then you don't have to worry about anything else.

sweet thanks Synsei...dude if went to get a GSR I'd lose too much money I put a lot in to my teg. Plus I am getting it all taken care of for 1500 that is engine, trans + swap. Even if the guys totally **** it up I can get it fixed for 2000 at the absolute most which is still less then getting a GSR.
