well, the previous owner did that conversion, but the hood, fender, and front bumper don't fit to each other. any suggestion??

 

Car must have been in an accident if it isn't lining up. It's a direct bolt on without any modifications

 

should i mold the gaps?? it's not huge, but still...

 

dont mold them. just try to alighn it yourself.

 

make sure you have the matching 2000 pieces -- hood, front bumper, lights, fenders -- I wouldnt mix and match -- if you do the newer conversion, make sure all the pieces are either 94-97 -OR- 98-2001!

 

I thought the hood & fenders didn't change. Only the headlights & bumper skin.

If the hood & fenders don't line up, something's bent.

Take it off.

The structural bumper is bolted on, I don't think there's much room for movement on that part. That can get bent in a collision, & you can't straighten it by hand. Check the styrofoam block that sits in the bumper - is it mashed? Same for those smaller plastic blocks in each end.

There's a steel bracket in each end of the bumper skin, where it sits against the front of each fender. Maybe those are bent or rusted?

Loosely assemble that steel strip across the top with all those screws. Then wiggle the bumper around, straightening it & pushing it into position, while you tighten them all. You need about 6 arms to do this properly. That's why lots of body shops never get it right - one guy always thinks he can do it by himself...

If the hood doesn't line up with the fenders; well that kinda says it all, right?
