I just wired mine straight from the battery -to switch- to starter. That would be the way to go if you don't have a multi-meter. I have one but I'm just lazy. I used speaker wire (only use 12 guage and bigger, 14 at the least; remember this will carry 12V at 400+A!!) and hooked it onto the 50A fuse in the fuse box (engine compartment) through a hole in the fire wall. I pulled the carpet up and put the wires under it, and wired it up to my push button switch which is ghetto-rigged to the removed 'removable panel' thing under the steering wheel. Then from there I ran the other part of the speaker wire from the switch under the carpet through the same hole in the firewall and to the starter relay clip on the starter. You will need a connector for this, and I would also recommend a connector for the fuse. The switch part isn't too hard, it doesn't matter which wire goes to which side, just one in and the other out. good luck.

EDIT: Using this method will make the switch active at all times. When the key is off, you can push the button and the starter will work; but the car won't start because the key isn't on. To get around the switch being active when the key is off, get/borrow a multimeter and get under the steering wheel.... Take off a couple panels and there will be a couple wires coming out of the ignition switch. Take readings of them one at a time- once while the key is off, and another when the key is on. Then just splice into the wire that has 0 volts when key is off and 12 volts when key is on.

Your starter wire is a Black with white stripe and, ignition is black with yellow stripe. These wires can be found coming out of the back of your key cylinder. Tap power off of the ignition circuit. Don't cut it just tie in with it. Then for the out put of the switch, cut the black wire and the part running away from the cylinder goes to your starter. Wire up tour output to it. Now your car will only start with the button. Edit: when the ignition is on. This is the way it should be.

. Sorry, I forgot to mention I didn't have that luxury. I put mine in because my starter relay went out.
