A starter kill switch is easily bypassed so not very effective, install a switch on the PGM-FI Main Relays ground, it has it's advantages...

1- Your dealing with a ground instead of 12V+.
2- It is low current, less the 250mA, [requires a small switch and no relay].
3- It will shut down the fuel pump, the fuel injectors, one of the powers to the ECU/ECM and a few of the engine sensors. 94

well the reason im doing this is to fake pass track inspection...... what i mean is the person that had the car before me put ad eletric start ,with bypasses the clutch switch.... when i go to the track they make you start the car wiht your feet outside.....i just want to switch the starter off and when they ask to do this..... then when im done switch it back.... i know that kinda sounds dumb but i like the eletric start..... if anyone has a better idea feel free to throw them out i will use anything

thanks

Remove/repair the Clutch Interlock Switch bypass, and if you still want the remote start to work connect the "status output" [ground out when remote starting] to the output, [probably a blue/black] of the CIS, remote start will still work and so will the CIS. 94

Wow never heard of a track doing this!
You could pick yourself up a DEI 689M and be totally legal and safe at the same time...

They do that up here at the drag strip, circuit and at any autocross, and a switch will not get you by, you have to go go to start hold it there and then step on the clutch all while they are observing, and it better not start in gear if you have a remote start. 94

You should take White Smokes advice and install the DEI 689M, or you can use the Peripheral also makes a "safe start module"

As for the Clutch Interlock Switch, it is an easy fix. 94

You do not "disconnect" CIS, you repair whatever the previous owner did to bypass it, he probably just connected the input and output together, either by installing a jumper or just cutting the leads and connecting them together.

Once the CIS is working properly you will need to connect the remote start systems "status output" also called "ground out when running" to the CIS output, this will supply the cars starter relay with the ground it needs, [normally supplied by stepping on the clutch pedal] to energize when remote starting the car.

What is the MM&Y of your car?

The DEI 689M is a "safe start" module, it wires into the car and remote start system so it makes starting the car in gear imposible, you will put the system into a "ready mode", leave engine running after you turn off the ign. and exit the car and close the door, then shutting down the engine.

Obviously if you got out of the car with the engine running, it must have been out of gear, car is in ready mode and remote starting is possible, if you did not put it in ready mode or if a door is opened after putting it in ready mode, remote starting is not possible. 94

The CIS is located high up on the clutch pedal it will have 2 wires a black input, [from chassis ground] and a blue/black output, [to starter relay].

The previous owner has connected these two wires together somehow, bypassing the switch, it is a simple fix, [or should be], he has either installed a jumper between the two leads, connected the two leads together or even just cut the blue/black and grounded it. 94
